Advantage Ford is the largest retail Ford store in Calgary, the #1 Mustang dealer in Canada for the last 5 years, and the #1 dealer of Ford SVTs – Ford’s highest-performance vehicles. It specializes in Ford and made to order Special Vehicle Team (SVT) automobiles. Despite its tremendous success over the years, Advantage Ford has come from humble beginnings; its achievement can be attributed to hard work and team effort.

Advantage Ford was first established in 1995 as part of Wood Automotive Group owned by principal, Gerry Wood. In the beginning it was one of the smallest players in the Calgary market, with a small team and a dealership located just 5.4 km down the road from the original flagship store. Now it is the only Ford store conveniently located on Macleod Trail.

Despite Advantage Ford’s humble beginnings, the dealership quickly gained a reputation for excellent customer service standards. Customers were not viewed as clients, but rather as family. This value was embedded within Advantage Ford from early on, and has remained true to-date.

Advantage Ford continues to be recognized for its exceptional service, having been named #1 in customer satisfaction for 2010 out of the 26 dealerships that make up Ford’s Western Region. Additionally, Advantage Ford has won the President’s Award – the most prestigious award offered by Ford – several times over the last 15 years. The President’s Award is granted on the basis of sales volume and customer service; attributes Advantage Ford is a leader in. Advantage Ford is also a proud part of the greater family of the Wood Automotive Group, one of Alberta’s largest automobile retailers.

Gerry Wood is the principle and founder of Wood Automotive Group. He started his legacy as a pioneer automotive dealer in Calgary’s automotive industry in 1983 when he acquired Southridge Lincoln Mercury, and renamed it Woodridge Ford Lincoln.

Approximately 10 years after its acquisition by Gerry Wood, Woodridge Ford Lincoln expanded to form a group – the Wood Automotive Group – that now encompasses five automotive dealerships including Advantage Ford, and a separate All-Makes Collision Centre facility, for auto body repair and maintenance.

Since 1983, Gerry’s businesses have been providing Calgary and area with exceptional products and services.His attention to quality has been recognized through numerous awards. His success can be attributed to his vision and dedication to Wood Automotive Group’s three leading principles; Constant attention to customer satisfaction, professional staff and well-planned facilities.
