Only the Best Pass the Test
Before an eligible Ford can become Blue or Gold Certified, it must pass Ford's comprehensive 172-point inspection. The process reviews vehicle history, road-test performance, mechanical systems, diagnostics, safety equipment, technology and interior and exterior condition. If an item does not meet Ford's standards, it must be repaired or replaced with an authorized part before the vehicle can qualify for certification.

What is Ford Blue Advantage™?
Ford Blue Advantage™ is Ford Canada's Certified Pre-Owned vehicle program. Eligible Ford vehicles must meet specific model-year, kilometre and vehicle-history requirements and pass a comprehensive 172-point inspection before they can become certified.
Is every used Ford vehicle certified?
No. Even if a vehicle meets the applicable model-year and kilometre requirements, it must still meet Ford's vehicle-history requirements and successfully pass the required inspection before it can become Ford Blue Advantage™ Certified.
What is the difference between Blue and Gold Certified?
Gold Certified vehicles are current model year plus five previous model years with fewer than 130,000 kilometres and include longer Ford-backed Extended Service Plan coverage. Blue Certified vehicles have the same model-year range but may qualify with fewer than 160,000 kilometres and include shorter coverage.
Who performs the 172-point inspection?
Qualified Ford dealership technicians perform the comprehensive inspection. If an inspected item does not meet Ford's certification standards, it must be repaired or replaced with an authorized part before the vehicle can qualify for certification.
Why is a Vehicle History Report important?
A Vehicle History Report is part of the Blue and Gold certification process and helps identify important information such as accident history, title history, odometer concerns and other events that could affect certification eligibility.
Can I finance a Certified Pre-Owned Ford?
Yes. Ford Credit financing may be available to qualified customers, and special financing programs may sometimes be offered on select Blue or Gold Certified vehicles.
What does the Extended Service Plan cover?
The included Ford Blue Advantage™ Extended Service Plan provides eligible coverage for more than 1,000 components. Depending on the applicable plan, coverage can include components within the engine, transmission, steering, brakes, suspension, electrical system, heating and air conditioning, technology, safety systems and more. Terms, limitations and exclusions apply.
Is the Ford Blue Advantage coverage transferable?
Yes. The Ford Blue Advantage™ Extended Service Plan is fully transferable to a future owner at no cost, subject to the remaining coverage and applicable program terms.
Will I receive the inspection and vehicle history reports?
Yes. As part of the Ford Blue Advantage™ delivery process, customers receive a copy of the Vehicle Inspection Checklist and the Vehicle History Report, providing additional information about the certified vehicle being purchased.
Can I buy a used Ford and have it certified afterward?
No. Ford Blue Advantage™ certification must be completed by the dealership before the vehicle is offered for sale as Certified Pre-Owned. Certification cannot simply be added at the time of purchase.
Why buy Ford Certified instead of a regular used vehicle?
A Ford Blue Advantage™ Certified vehicle has met Ford's eligibility requirements, passed a comprehensive 172-point inspection and includes Ford-backed Extended Service Plan coverage and Roadside Assistance. Customers also receive vehicle-history and inspection documentation for added confidence in the vehicle they are purchasing.
What happens if something does not pass the inspection?
Any inspected item that does not meet Ford's certification standards must be repaired or replaced with an authorized part before the vehicle can qualify as Ford Blue Advantage™ Certified.

Vehicle eligibility, certification availability, inspection requirements, Extended Service Plan coverage, Roadside Assistance, Ford Rewards Points and other program benefits are subject to Ford Motor Company of Canada program terms, conditions, limitations, exclusions and change without notice. Extended Service Plan coverage expires when the applicable time or kilometre limitation is reached, whichever occurs first, based on the applicable Ford Blue Advantage™ program terms.
